About The Team

At Warpforged Games we are huge tabletop fanatics. Most of us have garages full of miniatures, shelves packed with rule books, and mountains of dice. Some of our team members have been playing wargames, games such as Warhammer, for over twenty years and we can’t get enough. It is this shared passion for tabletop wargames that has brought this team of veteran video game developers together to create Realms of Conquest.

Our core team offers more than 50 years of combined industry experience with more than 20 shipped titles between them. Our team members past work includes some of the largest licenses in gaming, like Warhammer, Call of Duty, Halo, Destiny, Star Trek, WWE, UFC, Ninja Gaiden, Mass Effect, Spiderman, Mortal Kombat, Wildstar, and many more. Our team members contribute their passion and expertise to this exciting new endeavor.

Team History

Warpforged Games was founded back in January 2014. At the time, the team was focused on creating a Kickstarter to provide the necessary funds for a small team to work on the game full time. Months and months of work and effort went into launching that campaign under an older project name. We had loads of concept art, the entire game designed out, mockup examples of what the game could look like, a deep lore/background for the universe created by a tabletop gaming legend, and so much more. But in the end, the Kickstarter proved unsuccessful for a variety of unforeseen reasons.

We learned a lot from that experience both good and bad, but there were two big takeaways in particular that stuck with us. First, is that the gaming community really wanted a turn-based tabletop wargame on the PC. Second, is that we had to build a functional demo before the community would support the project.

Despite this speed bump, the core team at Warpforged were not about to give up so easily. Our love of tabletop wargaming and video games drove us to do whatever it took to make our dream become a reality.

We re-branded the project as Realms of Conquest, and took it upon ourselves without any funding or resources to create the game in the Unity engine. Starting from scratch has been a grueling process, involving going to our jobs during the day and spending every free moment to work on Realms of Conquest on our own time.

The core team members have been through several job changes, moves, and various life challenges, but through sheer determination we have consistently been working on the project since September 2014. It has taken us all the way up until now (March 2016) to get to the point where we are ready to show the world what we have been working on.

We have accomplished an amazing amount of work with just a handful of people, but we still have a long way to go. There are still many more features and armies we will include in the game before we would consider it done. At this point we are excited to show the community what we have been up to and ask for your support.
